Critical fibre optic cable cut.

Construction work on an M.O.D. base resulted in the breakage of one of the sites primary fibre optic cables that provides multiple services including: computer networking, telephony, door entry systems and CCTV.

A team of Phoenix Optics SC security cleared engineers promtly attended the site, a new cable segment was installed between the break and the closest cable duct manhole, two external joints were installed, the fibres fusion spliced and the services were active again within hours of the cable being cut.
